Heavy Rain is a high-def psychological thriller; an adventure game with action-oriented elements and a dark storyline that is as disturbing as it is compelling. The noir plot follows the lives of four largely unrelated individuals, all of which have been affected by a serial murderer on the loose. Each with a different motive, the characters seek to end the gruesome spree of the "Origami Killer," so-called for the folded paper creations left on murder victims. Players navigate the game world using the controller's left stick to look around and the trigger to move, squeezing harder to run faster. Interaction with objects comes through context-sensitive buttons. Fights, chases, escapes, and other fast actions are accomplished in quick time event style, as players must punch in a button sequence, move the analog sticks in a particular direction, or shake the controller, quickly and accurately following onscreen cues for success. Each decision and action can influence the development of the plot, and even the ultimate survival of the four main characters depends on the choices the player makes throughout the game. Released in 2010 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Heavy Rain was created by Quantic Dream, the French development studio behind 2005's well-received crime adventure for 128-bit systems, Indigo Prophecy (known as Fahrenheit in Europe).

Buy it for $15 or less.
Bought this game because of the great reviews I've heard from various game sites. I must say that I was well pleased.... but this game is NOT for the kiddos. If you are looking to purchase this game for anyone under 20, I'd say look elsewhere. So, if you still plan on buying it, I'll give you the low-down. This game is a very cinematic video game. Reminds me of the "Space Ace" and "Dragons Lair" games of the past.... but with a much better story and easy to understand controls. The amount of time you actually get to walk around VS. interacting with cutscenes is less than 50/50. That being said, there are rather intense moments that make it OK that you're not in complete control. Your actions in various points of the story will make for different choices later in the game (however, you can easily go back and fix blunders). So, now why this isn't for the kiddos. There's frequent swearing (including the F-bomb... lots of that one), scenes of intense (and disturbing) violence, and nudity scenes (shower scenes, a "romantic session", and a forced strip-tease.) So, like I said, do NOT buy this for your kids. Overall, the game was a great story and would have made for an awesome TV series. The re-play value is good until you platinum it, then it may be a "once in a blue moon" type of game.

I played a demo for Heavy Rain on my PS3 about the time it was initially released, and I enjoyed the interactive drama game play. It was rather refreshing and involving, especially since it's not an action-oriented game. Around Christmas I decided to get it for myself as a gift, as the price was right. The story, while occasionally far fetched, is overall very believable. The characters are very detailed, both graphically and in personality. It's easy to get sucked in if you've ever liked a crime drama TV show. However, and I may be at a minority here, but I found parts of it excessively violent even for that sort of setting. There were also occasional times where I'd have done something that wasn't an option for the characters. Perhaps that's for the sake of the story, but I wondered, ... Not a game but as interactive fiction it's worth a look
I have to say, I wasn't to sure what I was getting into. Sure, I'd heard about this game, read reviews, but it's one of those things that needs to be experienced to really know what the hell this thing is. The best thing to say is it's an interactive movie, filled with QTE's. Now, this may sound like complete crap considering that QTE's have been sucking enjoyment out of games for a few years now, but oddly enough it isn't that bad. It seems that since the game was built around this game play concept, it avoids QTE's usual pitfalls. The story is an interesting drama, with enough twists to keep your interest. Though, after a little thought, the story has quite a few plot holes so if you can't deal with an average game level story this game could be a long painful process. Plus, while the ... Overall, it's an interesting novelty, and the fact that it's become pretty popular makes me hopeful more interactive fiction can be green lighted, but its not a system seller. The Good: An interesting story, and the games QTE's didn't turn me off. The Bad: Story still only normal game quality, uncanny valley. Letter Grade: B I paid a price of $40 dollars. I feel that that was a pretty good price.

Like A Movie : Video Game Became A Movie
When you start the game, You will dive to game. Then you will control game characters. Graphic project like real and sounds drive me thrill. You can make a decision as characters. I think that this makes people I am in the game and I am one of them. When there are actions, you have to input some commands. It is really good, too. But playing it two or three hours later, I started to feel little bit bored. Even though I can choose choices, that doesn't effect too much. After seeing good ending then you can guess bad endings. Also there is no more fun. Just player can try to get trophies. Cool Game with Good Graphics, Good Story
If you're first person shooter fan, or a 'gotta have constant action' person, Don't buy this game. Its kinda slow paced, and more for the story interaction. It reminds me of 'DREAMFALL' for the Original XBOX. The decision making and story line are what keeps you riveted. The first time through the game went faster than I thought, but now I find myself going back and replaying the story and making different choices. Good stuff. The play control can be a little frustrating at times, and you need to know your PS3 controller really well for the spit second button pushing. And like I stated above, the game isn't an action-packed thrill ride. It was more of an interactive movie or tv series. To me Heavy Rain is groundbreaking in that it allows ...
